What to expect
The clinic will be in 3 parts.

Julie Winchester will give a brief introduction on how Mavros, the horse simulator works.

You will then get a 20 minute session on Mavros, taught by Julie.
She will highlight subtle changes you need to make to improve your position, posture and aids. The 3 riders in the clinic will take turns, and watch each others' sessions to maximise learning.
Ciara Glaisher, the Physiotherapist, will also be watching to see where your weaker areas are likely to be, and what is likely to help your body achieve what Julie is instructing.

The second part will be a 20 minute Physiotherapy taster session, again taking turns across the 3 Riders.
Ciara will assess the major muscle groups for weaknesses and tightness, assess your spine for joint stiffness, plus any specific areas highlighted by the Mavros session.
You will receive a short treatment of your most limiting factor, e.g. spinal joint mobilisations, hip joint mobilisations, or soft tissue release.
Ciara will give you at least one exercise to improve the strength of your weakest point.

Lastly, a rounding up session on Mavros lasting 10 minutes.
This will consolidate what you've learned, practising with Julie's instruction. It should feel easier for your body to achieve what Julie is asking of you, following the Physiotherapy.
You can then transfer your refined skills to riding your own horse, with ongoing improvement from your exercise(s).

For those that want more, we are considering private follow-up clinics, where you can get a longer session on Mavros with Julie, and a full length Physiotherapy appointment, all as 1:1. Please let us know if you would be interested!
